NY State HELP Program Information Session
April 30 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am
Mr. Nathan Green, GABELLI EMBA ’24, with the NY State Department of Transportation, will be chatting with students about working a government job for New York State. The morning’s agenda will consist of an overview of the NY HELP Program, a discussion of how working for a government agency is different than the private sector, and closing with a Q&A session.
New York State agencies are hiring critical positions across New York State. To help agencies fill these critical positions, the Department of Civil Service has developed a hiring program called Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement, or HELP, that streamlines the appointment process to allow State agencies to hire diverse, qualified permanent employees quickly and without examinations. New State employees hired under the HELP Program will be appointed on a permanent basis.
The HELP Program temporarily removes the civil service exam requirement for more than 100 direct care, health and safety titles for thousands of positions across State agencies.
This program is available to all student groups with permanent work authorization
