Our staff recruitment partnerships provide us with the agency to staff our classrooms with teachers & professionals who align with our core values and framework for teaching culturally diverse inner-city scholars. The Office of Recruitment and Retention is committed to exposing young men and women of diverse backgrounds to careers within the Fire Department. The Recruitment units consists of Firefighters, Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Paramedics, and Fire Protection Inspectors. As first responders to fires, public safety and medical emergencies, disasters and terrorist acts, FDNY protects the lives and property of New York City residents and visitors. The Department advances public safety through its fire prevention, investigation and education programs.
