Fordham students can now get immediate feedback and re-write their resume from anywhere at any time thanks to Big Interview’s new Resume AI tool.
Students request resume reviews more than any other appointment type at the Fordham Career Center. Now, the Fordham community can have their resume reviewed for the most essential information and formatting.
Fordham students may already be familiar with the Big Interview platform from their online, on-demand interview preparation tools and training. The platform is taking its well-known artificial intelligence (AI) interview feedback and is expanding it into the resume preparation sector with its launch of Resume AI.
Resume AI utilizes Artifical Intelligence and Large Language Model technology, paired with Fordham-created scoring guides, to give immediate feedback for what to improve. Each scanned resume is scored based on readability, credibility, format, and ATS fit. As opposed to re-writing the scanned resumes, Resume AI provides tailored feedback and highlights exact areas for improvement. Resumes are also scored on a scale of bronze, silver, and gold to provide more holistic feedback before getting into the details of typeface and spacing, grammar, language, and job description alignment.
As artificial intelligence becomes more prominent in the professional world, it becomes increasingly important for students to familiarize themselves with the ethical use of the technology. Resume AI helps to match existing standards— many companies already use AI in their recruitment process, specifically through Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) in the earliest stages of screening. By providing students with AI resumes reviews, they can leverage the same technology that employers use, while still being able to maintain their own voice and perspective in the final document.
