As graduation approaches, the thought of what comes next can be scary. Lucky for you, the Career Center has your back! As a senior who’s worked with the Career Center for a few years, I’ve compiled a starter list of resources that will be essential in marketing yourself and aiding your job search.
- One of the most essential resources on Handshake is the shared Google Drive that gives you access to sample resumes, cover letters, interview questions, and more!
- While using the shared drive to improve your resume, you may also look at the Action Verb List, which is a collection of different descriptive verbs that will enhance your resume and make you stand out to employers.
- If you are specifically preparing for a job interview, there is a platform called Big Interview, which allows you to practice general, behavioral, and technical questions.
- If you prefer to practice interviewing with a friend, there is also a list of the most asked questions in interviews, giving you a chance to prepare for face-to-face interactions.
- When graduating, deciding your next step with the looming job market and competitive graduate programs is challenging. On Handshake, there is a breakdown of certifications based on the industry you want to enter. Exploring this resource may point you in a better direction, personally and professionally!
- Your online presence matters. You can learn how to Craft a Distinctive LinkedIn Personal Brand that attracts recruiters and showcases your professional potential.
These are just some of my favorite documents and websites, but over 90 additional resources are accessible 24/7 on Handshake. Want to explore them for yourself? Navigate to the Career Center tab, then select “Resources.” From there, you’ll be able to discover our entire resource library, which we update regularly.
If you’re looking for more personalized support, you can always stop by the Career Center office at Rose Hill or Lincoln Center or make a career counseling appointment on Handshake.
